One of Costa Rica's main attractions definitely has to be its extensive and amazing flora and fauna. Luckily the Costa Rican Government, over recent years especially, has created a lot of protected areas where an abundance of wildlife can be enjoyed. There are great trekking options and Pura Vida Ecolodge is brilliantly situated with the following parks easily accessible as day trips - Parque Nacional de Corcovado, Parque Nacional de Manuel Antonio, Parque Nacional Ballena, Parque Nacional Chirripó, Parque Nacional La Amistad. The most popular activities in the parks themselves are trekking, wildlife spotting and canopy tours but the options are endless. All of these tours can be arranged by our in-house concierge service

BUCEO (Scuba diving & Snorkeling)

Whether you are an experienced diver or maybe looking to do a PADI open watercourse, then both Parque Nacional Ballena and Isla de Caño especially offer world-class diving options. Depending on the season, divers (and snorkelers) can see dolphins, turtles, manta rays, humpback whales and reef sharks along with large groups of other spectacular marine life and stunning coral reefs. Both locations are within easy reach of Pura Vida Ecolodge and make a great day trip by boat from the mainland.

The most popular surf is in Dominical and Uvita, but even nearby Playas such as Tortuga, Ventanas and Piñuelas all offer good waves, depending on the season and tide times.

CANOPY TOUR (Zip-lining, repelling, suspension bridges)

A canopy tour is an adventure like none other you will experience. It consists of a network of cables that are strung from one tower to another high above the jungle floor. Riders travel along the wire via a specially-designed harness that is safe and secure as it glides along the zipline. The force of gravity propels the rider along the cable, giving the rider the feeling of flying through the air in the majesty of nature until they reach the next platform where more spectacular views await. http://www.osamountainresort.com/adventure-tours/
