We are happy to share the news that our friend Yadira from the nearby village of Coronado, given she has always had a passion in local cuisine, has managed to follow one of her dreams and recently completed a culinary course in La Zona Sur and with our help is now launching Pura Vida Café. The idea will be to offer our guests a variety of home-cooked authentic 'tico' meals and food packages for guests to enjoy in the comfort of Pura Vida Ecolodge. The Pura Vida Café's emphasis will be on creating tasty authentic Costa Rican plates using healthy locally sourced and where possible, 100% organic produce.

For those evenings when you don't want to have to cook, after all you are on vacation, or perhaps you just don't feel like eating out one of the evenings, then as long as we have 48 hours to arrange in advance, Yadira's Pura Vida Café can prepare some tasty tico treats and bring up to the lodge for your to enjoy while watching the sun go down behind the Isla de Caño... All part of the Pura Vida Experience!

In keeping with the sustainable and eco-conscious foundations on which Pura Vida Ecolodge is built on, we have decided to focus on vegetarian and vegan variations with a particular emphasis on locally grown ingredients. For the carnivores among you, fear not, with all the magical fruits, vegetables and local grains, our chef Yadira creates some super tasty ‘casados’, full of all the colours and nutrients your bodies will be craving, so you won’t be going hungry!

Likewise, as long as we know in advance, we can arrange for one of the Pura Vida Café's spreads to be prepared for your arrival up at Pura Vida Ecolodge - the perfect 'bienvenido'!

For prices and more info you can swing by the new Pura Vida Café facebook page or just pop us an email.

"...The Ecolodge is an incredible place to stay, the pictures provided are beautiful but in person the views are even better and the warm meal prepared by Iliana for when we arrived set the tone for the rest of the week! The canopy tour, surf lessons, beach time, private boat tour with Gersan, Manuel Antonio, local waterfalls, and all of the amazing restaurants in the area were highlights of our trip!"

"...My husband and I spent three days of our honeymoon here and we're so glad we did! From the very start of our stay, we were welcomed by Gersan and his wife Iliana with a home cooked Tico dinner which was one of the best meals we've ever had! After a long trip from the states and delayed flights that was exactly what we needed and really set the tone for the trip! Every little detail of the house is perfect from the shower, infinity pool, close by hiking trails to the hammock on the deck. We enjoyed ourselves. We also took Gersan's boat adventure which we highly recommend."

"...Oh. My. God. This place comes as advertised: just the right amount of remote, extraordinarily beautiful, and very peaceful. Joe went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of. In fact, when we arrived, there was a fresh, home-cooked meal waiting for us! Lots do, all within easy driving distance. Highly recommend the zip lining, Playa Ventana at low tide"
